Welcome to Ole Miss Nutt

Well it seems to be official. We have a new but familiar coach in Oxford. Even though it hasn't officially been reported from all indications Houston Nutt will be taking over.
This is an interesting hire for the Rebels. We wanted an experienced coach and we got one. He comes into town with a good bit of talent waiting on him.

There are a lot of questions left to be answered but at least we know where to start.

Hey Seth,
I am new to the world of blogging, but I have been an Ole Miss fan for a long time. I recently stumbled upon your blog, and I wanted to tell you it is great! Keep up the good work, and Hotty Toddy...

very very excited Rebel fan here.. Nutt has his quirks, but he's the type of coach we've needed for the past 3 years..hopefully he can provide some direction..

Hi! I'm from Arkansas & honestly, I am sad to see Houston Nutt go! I really like him as a coach & I think the Arkansas fans were way too hard on him. I know he will do great things for the Rebel football program. I'll certainly miss him!

I'm new here but a Rebel fan for many years. I graduated in 98. Nutt is a good hire. Not my #1 or #2 pick but he was 3rd. We should have 5 or 6 wins next year under him. In two years we should be bowling. At least I hope. Never believed that Orgeron was a good pick for us. O will make a great Defensive Coord. one day, somewhere. Maybe even a good HC somewhere but he was not a good pick for the Rebels

I think your guy's in the Athletic Department should have taken more time to look into the baggage that HDN will bring with him to Ole Miss. There are still alot of unanswered questions left here in Arkansas. But if you guy's can live with a coach who will take all of the credit for the good and none of the blame for the bad, Houston is your man..
He is not much of a recruiter, so his best years may be the first couple since he will be coaching someone elses players. He talks a great game but don't be too quick to fall for all the hype.
Hold his feet to the fire and keep your expectations high or you will get caught up in the mediocre world of HDN.
I truly think that the University of Mississippi could have done better than the Nutt, but maybe things will be better for you than it was for our Razorback Nation.

I hope you fans at Ole Miss are intelligent enough to realize that Houston was shown the door at Arkansas. His enthusiasm will be refreshing at first but it will grow old fast.

Rebel fans, you got a great coach in Nutt. I know he will bring success to your program. 18 wins the last 2 seasons, beat the best college team in the country this year in Death Valley and the #2 team last year at Auburn. The players will play their hearts out for him. I love Hog football but believe our fan base got tired of the all the drama that has surrounded our program over the last couple of years.

Houston Nutt is a good man who was given a raw deal by some HOG fans? who will most likely show up on your blog sites to bash him even more.
He is passionate about his team and will be a great asset to the REBEL faithful! He will do all he can to win games.
HOG fans leave the man alone he is gone and now little mitch can come back with Gus and make the HOGS the contender for a national championship. But you have to go through Oxford to get there. CONGRATS to U of M. From the ultimate NUTT HUGGER!!

I am an Arkansas fan from Fayetteville, Arkansas.

I wanted to let you know that you got a steal. Nutt was basically run out of the state by a small, but vocal group of poeple.

It seemed like everyone wanted him gone, but now that he is gone, I keep hearing over and over that we may have made a mistake.

We almost screwed ourselves with our basketball coach search, but that may have ended up alright. I am worried that we may have screwed ourselves this time.
